The cooling capacity of the sugar production process in a sugar factory and refrigeration system design

Cooling systems are used in industrial plants in general as they exist in many parts of our lives. They have a wide range area. Since they are used in large shopping centers, industrial production factories, hotels, residences etc. the determination of the capacity of the cooling load is important and necessary . One of the most important criteria for determining the cooling load to be used is that, if the load for the factory is to be determined for the internal cooling; the number of people working inside the factory, the number of machine-equipment and the area of the environment are the most decisive factors. After that, the chiller selection is required to be done based on the loads we have specified in the factory for the cooling capacity. It is also necessary not to ignore the outdoor conditions in this manner because the load decreases or increases according to the weather conditions. Therefore it is very important to consider. For example, there is a difference between Istanbul, Ankara, Eskişehir or Erzurum weather conditions and the determination of the load for each of them. External weather conditions directly affect the electrical power output of the compressor as it directly affects the efficiency of the condenser. In this study, determination of the loads in a factory is discussed. Loads of installed machine powers are determined and satisfaction of loads is done by making chiller design according to the loads. These loads only consist of loads given by machinery equipment companies. Besides, cycle of the chiller system is explained in detail in this study. It is clarified that it is directly connected to the environment conditions. Moreover, how the loads were determined for a sugar factory and candy process information were also mentioned
