Abstract (EN)
In this study, a small-scale wind turbin is designed, that is capable of running a 40 Watt DC submersible pump, choosed by taking into consideration of the 50 meter deep ground water level in Antalya.A wind turbine which has a 67 cm of rotor radius, three blades and DC generator direclty connected to rotor, has been builded and the performances of these wind turbine in various wind speeds has been investigated. The results of experiments indicated that the wind turbine reached its highest yield, 27.5%, in the range of 5.5 m/s ? 6.5 m/s wind speeds. According to Ragheb (2009), 35% yield, based on the design of wind turbine can be considered as a realistic goal. Therefore, 27.5% is a very satisfactory yield. Obtained reasonable results show that the design has been done under correct principles.
