The fractals as a method of design

In the past, there was a necessity for new geometry in the field of art and design for complex forms in nature, which cannot be solved by classical geometry. The nature, which has always inspired the artist in the field of art and design, gives different perspectives to artists and designers, providing a wide range of creation opportunities by fractal structures. The products designed with inspiration from the structures already existing in nature are modeled, reproduced and used in many fields of science, art and life. The fractals as a design method have been investigated by analyzing lots of scientific sources including books, journals and theses. In this newly defined area, which is not based much on the past, the fractals were introduced in the field of geometry, art and design was compiled and images related to the subject were added during the study. In the thesis application, interdisciplinary studies have been done in terms of sense, content and technique by using a combination of digital photography techniques and traditional printing techniques. Conseptually, designs which are reflecting the complex characteristics of chaos, natural and artificial fractals were created. With the developing technology, by recognizing this field it is aimed to produce a wide variety of works and contribution to the literature on the fields of digital art and in various design areas, where can be formed with an infinite variety of unique structures for the creations inspired by the fractals.
