Abstract (EN)

Violence is described as a possibility that deliberate physical force or power, threatened or exposed as a result of the implementation of realism in the form of another person injury, death, psychological harm. Violence against women is a common social problem. The nurses have an important role in the violence against women. The aim of this study, nurses who working in a university hospital to determine the status of the detection violence against women.This cross-sectional and descriptive study is performed a questionnaire as face to face. Violence is stated that any kind of behavior that led to the suffering of women by 90% of participant in this study. Second defination of violence is `to make things to a woman that she does not want in a forcefull way? and third one is `a psychological action which is harmfull to women? 78.4% and 78.1% of participant respectively. It is mentioned that psychological 38.7% and physical 32.9% violence are the most of problems they have to face. Alcohol is considered to cause violence by 85.2% of participants, and also violence is mostly seen in society which are at low level of socio-cultural degree by 81.3%.Raising voice, shouting and swearing are defined as the most known types of verbal violence by 95.8%. ?Husbands are indicated to be attacker who are mostly seen on sexual violence cases 65.8% of participants. Purple Roof Women's Shelter is mostly and Family, Women, Children and Disability Social Service Hotline is least known organizations who are working to prevent violence against women 85.5% and 24.8% respectively by the participants. According to results of this study, to prevent sexual violence is obtained with disincentive laws 92.6%, increasing the education level of society 77.1% and no need to hide 59.4%. It is important that nurses who high frequency of exposure to violence have educated in-service, to be warned with notice and raised the level of knowledge on this issue.
