11 Mr. Sc Thesis Kemal ÇETİN GAZI UNIVERSITY INSTITUE OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY January, 1997 ABSTRACT This study aimed the design, manufacturing and application of a volumetric pollen-spore trap. In this study; Burkard volumetric spore trap had been taken as a reference and modified. The difference between our system and the reference is that the movement of disc rotation mechanism had been provided by a DC motor. The system marked an example that during 7 days period it absorbed 10 It. air per minute at the disc which was turned in a 2 mm/hr speed. Compared to the reference system, the system designed had been gained 0.5 mm/hr. - 8 mm/hr. average disc speed. This modification had been realized by supplementary electric fan unit. 7- days period trials hade been made, and all data taken were evaluated.
