Abstract (EN)

Currently, pine chips imported from the United States (USA) are used in production of chipboards from abroad. In this study, it was investigated the usability of cover material obtained from industrial waste as an alternative raw material from our existing sources in order to reduce the external dependency. For this purpose, different production combinations have been produced particleboards in the factory; while the ratios of oak 15%, poplar 5% and sawdust 10% kept constant; ratios of the imported pine chips % 70, 65, 55, 50, 45, 40 and industrial wastes % 0, 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 have been used respectively.In production of plates, urea formaldehyde as adhesive agent, ammonium sulfate as hardener and paraffin as hydrophobic substance are used. The samples were taken from each group plate and examined for physical properties, density, moisture content, water uptake and thickness increase and surface weight, bending resistance from mechanical properties, modulus of elasticity, tensile strength perpendicular to the surface and screw retention resistance standards. According to the results obtained, statistical analyzes revealed that the rate of imported pine chips in the plate decreased and the change in the technological properties of the plate did not occur as the chipboard flake ratio in the plate increased. Accordingly, it has been found to be technically feasible to reduce the use of ready-made chips supplied in the plate manufacturing process and to evaluate the cover plate in plate production under the same production conditions.
