Abstract (EN)

In this study, laminar forced convection heat transfer inside the duct having trapezoidal cross section and baffles on it's one surface has been investigated numerically under three dimensional, steady-state, constant surface temperature and periodic flow conditions. Numerical solution has been carried out using commercial CFD code Ansys Fluent 6.3.26. Flow domains and computational meshes were created using Ansys Gambit 2.3.16 package program.Numerical study has been performed for Reynolds number range of 100 ? Re ? 500. Air (Pr 0.7) is used as working fluid. Numerical studies have been carried out for five different blocks having bottom surface area of 6x6 mm2 and heights of 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8.5 mm. The results were presented in terms of average Nusselt number and average Darcy friction factor as a function of Reynolds number in the form of Num = Nu0 - 0.028 Re0.516 and f = 62.42 Re0.832.Key Words : Laminar forced convection, trapezoidal cross-section duct, Ansys Fluent
