An examination of the reactivity and sporting behaviours of i̇ndividual and team athletes (Example of Elaziğ province)

An Examination Of The Reactivity And Sporting Behaviours Of İndividual And Team Athletes The aim of this study was to investigate the reactivity and sportsmanship behaviors of individual and team athletes. The study consists of athletes engaged in individual and team sports in Elazığ Province in the 2018-2019 season, and the sample was composed of 381 athletes selected randomly from licensed athletes engaged in individual and team sports. Interpersonal Reactivity Index developed by Davis and adapted to Turkish by Engeler was used in the research and Multidimensional Sportsmanship Orientation Scale was used, developed by Vallerand et al. and adapted to Turkish by Balçıkanlı, for their Fair Play approaches. SPSS 24 package program was used in the evaluation of the data and the calculated values were interpreted using frequency and percentage for demographic information, parametric tests according to the results of normality analysis, t-test for paired comparisons and anova test for multiple comparisons. It was seen that 52.2% of the individuals participated in the study was male, 74.5% had a bachelor's degree, 45.4% were between 18-22 years of age, 48.0% had a sports history of 1-5 years and 52.0% were engaged in team sports. As a result, it was found that the female participants were more dominant in the adaptation to social norms according to the gender variable, the individuals engaged in individual sports had more empathy and the athletes who had master education level were more careful in respecting the opponent.
