Abstract (EN)

Wars, which have been seen in every period of history and in all geographies in order to survive and maintain their lives, have affected not only the victorious or defeated country, but also the history of humanity from political, economic, cultural and military aspects. The wars, which led to changes based on the army system, war methods and ammunition, increased the importance of logistics, which started to be used with the word army all over the world, and led to its development. Logistics The answer to the question of what is the place of logistics in war in a philosophical dimension has been sought by the war theorists who have also guided the First World War with their ideas since the 19th century. The West, which experienced the Industrial Revolution and the French Revolution, used the developments in science and technology to make logistics a science and discipline in the 20th century, which systematically meets all the needs of huge armies, the main factor determining the victory in the war. While the West developed the expedition organization to protect and expand its borders by keeping up with the innovations brought by the period in a systematic and planned way since the 19th century, the Ottoman Empire could not keep up with the change and transformation in Europe as it wanted due to its current situation. The defeat of the wars in the Ottoman Empire since the 20th century has led to radical reforms in the military field, and this has provided the development of logistics, although not as much as contemporary countries. The development of logistics in the Ottoman Empire in the Fourth Army in the First World War, which affects the defense, tactics and strategy in the war and is affected by the military power and the command level, will be examined. It will be investigated how the developments in the Sinai-Palestine Front, the duty area of the Fourth Army, affect the logistics and binding elements of the decisions taken. The effect of logistics in the defeat in the Sinai-Palestine Front and how the problems in logistics were resolved and how the unresolved problems inflicted casualties on the front will be revealed.
