The World War One-The Dardanelles War In The Turkish Press The aim of this thesis is to fill the space-even if partly-in its area and facilitate the re searchers whom need knowledge about this subject. The thesis mainly consists of the news and comments of The Newspapers İkdam and Tanin during The Dardanelles War. But as a pre-knowledge, a section which contains the reasons, progress and the results of The Dardanelles War is included into The Intro duction. During the progress of the thesis, firstly, the interested issues of the newspapers are searched thoroughly and recorded all the news about the War. Afterwards, some books which are written of this subject are used to compile the knowledges in The Section of Intoduction. There has been reached some important results at the end of the research. Although these are comprehensively explained in The Section of Introduction, if it is necessary to indicate in short, The Dardanelles War has taken place broadly in both Turkish and the foreign press. The press' of the both sides have given the news and the comments in the direction of their national interests. The courage, heroism and the success of the Turk ish soldiers are appreciated by the friend - enemy goverments and the press'. In addition, its useful to indicate that, when The War progressed, The English Press ac cused their own government and army to be as much the responsible of the failure as The Turkish army's heroism. The same press has fiercely criticized the policies of its own government and the tactics of its own army. As a result of these, the honor of Turkey and its army has risen up against other states.
