Effectiveness of supportive education in the supportive resource room for students in mentally retarded in regular schools

The general purpose of the study is to research whether performing by special education teacher in resource rooms of training plans to be designed according to what mentally retarded children in regular schools can be done in academic areas would be effective on performing purpose in the academic area of students.Design of researching is ?multiple baseline design across subjects? of single ? subject experimental designs.Subjects of the research were the second grade students at five primary schools who are registered in regular primary school by integrating program in 2006 ? 2007 education year in province of Kahramanmaras, have not skill of understanding clock, have reading fluently less than 40 words in a minute. One of the students is determined for pre-application, three students for application, and the other is stand by.?Teacher Interview Form? and ?Control Lists? were used for determining necessities in academic areas of students. Measure instrument for pre-condition skills in understanding clock was prepared for determining whether students have pre-condition skills for training of understanding clock skills. As for skill of reading fluently, subjects should read 75% of a passage and reading fluently should be less than 40 words in a minute. Depending on necessities in academic areas of tested students. Understanding clock skill and reading fluently skill resource plans had been improved and performed.Data from research were analyzed as graphical.According to findings of research, it was clear that performing by special education teacher in resource rooms of training plans to be prepared according to what mentally retarded children in regular schools can be done in academic areas would be effective on performing purpose in the academic area of students.
