Abstract (EN)
Objective: The buccal adipose tissue is a tissue located on the cheek, which provides numerous functional and aesthetic clinical uses. It has been studied for the past forty years, and its frequent use in facial aesthetic gains is the reason for continuing research on this topic. This surgery is performed not only for aesthetic purposes, but also for functional reasons. Bishectomy application, mostly performed due to the patient's desire and satisfaction; and it does not have detailed data in terms of both new techniques and new indications. Since there are very few sources in PUBMED index scanning, it was aimed to contribute to the literature by using the data of bichectomy cases, which are also applied in our clinic. In this study, it is aimed to determine the relationship between the indication of bichectomy and the satisfaction of patients after surgery, and to contribute to the literature by evaluating the effect of the operation on patient comfort and quality of life. Materials and Methods: Volunteers who had previously applied to the Abant İzzet Baysal University Faculty of Dentistry or dental specialists who have no mental or systemic disease, did not use a systemic drug for general or local reasons, do not use any local or topical drugs in the oral area, have no history of alcohol or drug addiction, who did not have a low level of understanding in Turkish, who have no cooperative difficulties were included. 50 patients participated in the study, 27 of them had this procedure for aesthetic reasons and 23 for functional purposes. In order to measure the recovery quality of these patients after bichectomy surgery, patient recovery 40 (Qor 40) test was applied and it was evaluated whether it was statistically significant. Conclusion: In general, it was concluded that patient comfort is high, complications are low and it can be easily tolerated by patients. Emotional state, physical comfort, psychological support, physical independence and pain factors, which are the 5 sub-factor levels of the QoR-40 Test, were evaluated individually and in general and meaningful results in favor of those who had physical comfort, psychological support, physical discomfort sub-factors(pb=0,007, pb=0,012, pb=0,008). It was found. It was observed that there was an inverse correlation with other factors in the pain factor. 1 point increase in other factors caused a 90% decrease in pain factor. Discussion: It can be said that the patient comfort is high, the complications are low and easily tolerated by the patient, and the quality of recovery is high and has a positive effect on the quality of life.
