Abstract (EN)
Technological advances take an important place in tracking the depth of anaesthesia, shortening of extubation time and diminishing the length of stay in recovery room. Overuse of neuromuscular blockers can be prevented by means of neuromuscular monitorisation. Hypnotic overuse is precluded by optimisation of depth of anaestenia and with this, time needed for extubation and length of stay in recovery room are shorthened. 100 patients 93 of which were female and 7 of which were male operated in Akdeniz University were included in this study. Patients were evaluated for hemodynamic parameters, extubation time, length of stay in recovery room and postoperative pulmonary complications via BIS and TOF monitorisation. The patients were divided into four groups each consisting of 25 patients. Group I (Control group), Group II (TOF group), Group III (BIS group) and Group IV (BIS+TOF group). No demographic and hemodynamic differances were seen between groups. For the groups in which BIS monitorisation was used, it was seen that hypnotic agents needed for induction, intraoperative volatile anaesthetic concentration, extubation time and length of stay in recovery room were less. It was also seen that in groups in which BIS monitorisation was used, nausea and vomitting were significantly rare. In groups with TOF monitorisation, additional nueromuscular blocker amount during operation were lower. Besides, decurarisation needed at the end of operation were less in groups in which neuromuscular monitorisation was performed. As a result, we conclude that BIS monitorisation and neuromuscular monitorisation should be included in routine anaesthesia practice for rational use of anaesthetic agents.
