Abstract (EN)

The thesis entitled 'Investigation of the Collision Situation in Adjacent Structures by Dynamic Analysis Method', the effects and structural risks that collisions caused by earthquakes may cause on buildings designed as adjacent structures were taken into account. It is aimed to improve the buildings constructed in this layout against possible earthquakes and to provide a safer living environment for people. A literature review was conducted on the collision and dynamic analysis method in adjacent structures and the studies were summarized. Buildings with different characteristic features have been designed in line with these studies. The natural frequencies and displacements of these buildings have been gotten by dynamic analysis method. Graphs were drawn using the obtained data to examine the movements between the buildings. The movements between the buildings were observed with the help of these graphs. As a result of the study, it has been determined that collisions occur in all, designed buildings. It has been observed that the collision durations decrease as the width of buildings with the same height and similar characteristic features increases. In buildings with different heights, it has been observed that the collision durations vary depending on factors such as rigidity and mass.
