Abstract (EN)
The production in the textile sector with increasing environmental awareness, less amounts of water, chemicals and energy consuming will lead to less pollution manner that allows for alternative biotechnological approaches come to the fore and the development of environmental friendly new process has become important. In our study, the availability of plant derived enzymes, instead of microbial derived enzymes used in the textile industry, was investigated. In the first part of our study, the enzymes, catalase from mallow plant and polyphenol oxidase from the quince leaves, were isolated. Then, the isolated enzymes were immobilized into chitosan and alginate molecules to provide their use of harsher conditions in the industrial process. In other parts of our study, we aimed to investigate the plant-derived immobilized enzyme whether has any applications in the textile industry. We also investigated, the use of the immobilized catalase enzyme in order to resolve the peroxide after cotton bleaching process as an alternative to commercial microbial enzyme. The applications of environmentally friendly alternative washing process instead of the conventional washing process made after reactive dyeing process were investigated with immobilized PPO enzyme and the performances were evaluated. According to the findings obtained in the study, the results of fastness of fabrics implemented by alternative processes were good.
