According to the results, thym essential oil have efficient HPRTgen mutation activity due to increase of variant frequency at all of the doses. Also, its compounds carvacrol has slight HPRT activity but thymol hasnegative effect. It was resulted that other test compounds bay-leaf, salveessential oil and cineol-1,8 cause the HPRT gene mutation at highconcentrations by increase of variant frequency values. Keywords: Essential oils, Monoterpenes, HPRT, Human Lymphocytes,Genotoxicity
