Abstract (EN)

A set of rules created in the oral culture environment, transmitted orally from generation to generation, changing between communities, affected by geography, belief, social, cultural, and economic factors, is the product of the brain collectively. Its rules can change according to the conditions of the time, and the body of order created to regulate the internal dynamics of the society, known as general laws, defines it as public law. In this study, folk law practices that continue in Bitlis Güroymak Region are examined. This study aims to reveal and examine the appearance of folk law practices, which are accepted as the source of modern law, in the field of study. Folk law practices in the Bitlis Güroymak Region and how these practices are applied are determined by the nature of the study. In the study, the legal practices applied in the research field were compiled by using the observation method and interview method. In this study, the information obtained in the research area has been compiled and evaluated, and the types of sanctions and penal sanctions that the social problems in the Güroymak region have solved by their methods in traditional law.
