In the recent years, the development im material scince have provided new materials which has multiple functions. Biocer materials, that is one of this materials, are inorganic-bioorganic nanocomposite materials. One of the important applications of biocers, which use in artificial organ production and nanomaterial development , is wastewater biotreatment. Textile dyes are one important industrial wastes which is harmful to enviroment. Physical, chemical and biological treatment methods are unable to remediation of textile dyes. As alternative method, in this study, biocer materials are developped by immobilization biological structure inside ceramic materials.In this study, biocer material is synthesized by immobilization of S.cerevisae yeast culture and spors inside ceramic structure, which is defined as nanasol with sol-gel method. It is determined surface structure of biocers and dry nanasol with SEM analyze, their crystal patterns with XRD analyze, surface area and porosity with nitrogen gas adsorption and mercury porosimeter analyzes and cell viability with Floresan microscope for prepared biocer materials and dry nanosol. It is investigated in adsorption of biocers for reactive dyes as Reactive Orange 16, Reactive Blue 21 and Reactive Yellow 176.As a result of characterization study of dry nanasol, and biocers, it is determined that they are amorf, have surface area 35-700 m2/g and micro-meso and macro porosities. It is observed that S. cerevisae cells and spores are embedded inside macro porosities and silica matrix interlayers and their viability keep and they germinate during the storage by 60 days at -20°C temperature.As a result of batch adsorption study of reactive dyes, it is determined that adsorption capacity of biocers and dry nanasol are increase as initial dye concentration is increased and are decreased as pH, temperature of dyes and adsorbent concentration.As a result of continous adsorption study of reactive dyes, biocer with S. cerevisae spores, are the most excellent adsorbent for reactive dyes and the remediation of Reactive Yellow 176 is the most highets.Science Code: 912.1 .081Key Words: sol-gel, biocers, reactive dyesPage Number: 230Adviser: Prof. Dr. Nurdan SARAÇOĞLU
