Abstract (EN)
In this study, controlled release of theophylline from modified cellulose acetate (SA) membranes was investigated. For this aim the effects of thickness of the membrane, the amount of polyethylene glycol (PEG) used in the membrane modification processes, theophylline concentration, temperature and circulation of acceptor solution on the release of theophylline were studied. It was determined that as the membrane thickness increases the release of theophylline decreased in accord with the Fick?s Law. The increase in the amount of PEG used in the membrane modification process increased the released amount of theophylline from the SA membranes. Decrease in pH and increase in the concentration of theophylline increased the release of theophylline. Temperature affected the release behaviors and increase in the temperature increased the release of theophylline. Ciculation of the acceptor solution positively affected the release of theophylline from the SA membranes.
