Abstract (EN)
ABSTRACTThe inventions and applications started by the technology transfer to the medical sciencesexposed many innovations in medical implants. Especially, the new generation biomaterialsenhance and encourage the repair and replacement of the functional tissues of the body. Somehard materials having difficulties in their casting and machining have become attractive formedical uses by the new methods provided by powder metallurgy. Besides expected behaviorsfrom the biomaterials such as biofunctionality, biocompatibility, wear and corrosionresistance, also the manufacturability in controlled porosity structure gives an additionalimportance to the materials manufactured by this method.It has been examined biomaterials which are manufactured with powder metallurgy,advantages of powder metallurgy for biomaterials, strength of implants and comparingmechanical properties, biocompatibility, corrosion resistant of other metallic biomaterials inthis study.Keywords: Biomaterials, powder metallurgy, implants
