Abstract (EN)

In this thesis, the hydroxyapatite (HAP), titanium oxide (TiO2)and zinc oxide (ZnO) metal oxide semiconductor materials doped polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) shape memory materials were prepared. The titanium oxide (TiO2)and zinc oxide (ZnO) metal oxide semiconductors were prepared by sol gel and hydrothermal methods. The structural properties of the prepared shape memory materials were analyzed by Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, differential scanning calorimetery (DSC), scanning electronmicroscopy (SEM) and energy dispersive X-ray (EDX) spectroscopy and UV-visible spectroscopytechniques. The recovery rate properties of the shape memory materials were determined. The HAP doped PVA samples exhibited the best recovery property. The obtained results indicate that shape memory properties of the PVA polymer can be improved using HAP biomaterial and TiO2, ZnO nanomaterials.
