Abstract (EN)
The global increase in environmental pollution, which is one of the significant problems in our world, increasing energy consumption, and global warming have led countries to seek different solutions for peripheral issues. Efforts have been made to produce and develop renewable technologies. In Turkey and the world, the increasing need for energy in terms of economic and social needs and efforts to maintain life in a healthier environment against rising environmental pollution is also increasing. For this reason, sustainable ecology and a sustainable green economy have started to take place at the top of the world agenda. The use of microalgae in environmental applications is gradually increasing and microalgae technology is being developed rapidly. Technically, photobioreactors have come to the fore in microalgae production. The biotechnological and technical applications of microalgae; It has started to be used in many different fields such as health, foodstuffs, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, wastewater treatment, heavy metal removal in the environment, and animal feed. In addition, the production of vegetable fuels based on microalgae attracts a lot of attention so that, microalgae create an alternative potential instead of coal, oil, and natural gas. It means that microalgae will be one of the major resources in the future and a green revolution will take place with the development of microalgae technology. This study, it is aimed to reveal the biotechnology applications and criteria that have just started to be used in our country, to analyze the algae and microalgae used and to be used in biotechnology, the situation in the field of biotechnology in the world, and our country.
