Abstract (EN)

The aim of this dissertation is to study historical geography of Anaia and its surrounding vicinity under light of recent data. Within scope of the dissertation, texts on Anaia in primary and secondary resources were collected. The data acquired suggests inconsistency in Kadıkalesi/Kuşadası and Anaia pairing which is deemed to be proper today. Texts and maps of period extending from Classical Period to seventeenth century suggest that location of Kadıkalesi and findings and structures fall with Phygela rather than Anaia. In that case we may also deem that monumental church found in Kadıkalesi excavations may be Hagios Georgios Katholikon and Ayayorgi port may be in that location.
