Abstract (EN)

This study aims to investigate the effects of blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies on employees' turnover intention. It is assumed that the basic features of blockchain technology such as decentralisation, transparency and security, and the financial motivation and innovative features of cryptocurrencies have a significant impact on individuals' career choices. In this context, the study examines employees' perceptions of the cryptocurrency sector, the impact of this sector on current job satisfaction and motivational factors for turnover decisions. In the study, a qualitative methodology was adopted and semi-structured interview method was used within the scope of the study. Through 16 questions directed to the participants, the impact of blockchain and cryptocurrencies on career preferences was analysed from a multidimensional perspective. The questions cover topics such as individuals' financial expectations, knowledge levels, environmental impacts and current job satisfaction. The findings show that the cryptocurrency industry is perceived as both an opportunity and a risk factor for individuals. In cases where financial gains are prominent, participants find the sector more attractive, while volatility, risk and uncertainty are the main factors limiting the full-time transition to this sector. Moreover, a significant relationship was observed between respondents' level of knowledge and their perceptions of the market, with more informed individuals assessing the potential of the sector more rationally. The support or criticism received from the social environment was particularly decisive in the decision to choose the sector. As a result of this study, it was concluded that the relationship between the future of the blockchain and cryptocurrency sector and the career plans of individuals is important, while the innovative structure of the sector motivates individuals, risk factors create reservations. These findings provide recommendations that can be guiding both at individual and institutional level, especially in areas such as career counselling, training programmes and regulation development. Key Words: Blockchain Technology, Cryptocurrencies, Turnover Intention, Job Satisfaction, Career Choices.
