Abstract (EN)

In this study, methanol extracts were obtained from Nepeta macrosiphon leaf (NY) and flower (NÇ) parts, Salvia virgata leaf (SY) and flower (SÇ) parts, Hypericum triquetrifolium leaf (HY) and Arum rupicola leaf (AY) parts from plants distributed in our region. DPPH free radical scavenging, metal chelating, FRAP reducing power and antimicrobial activities and total phenolic and total flavonoid amounts of the extracts were determined. At 2.0 mg/ml concentration, HY extract showed the highest radical scavenging activity (87,51±1,63%), and AY extract showed the highest metal chelating activity (87,86±1,82%). Among the samples, HY extract showed the best results in terms of FRAP reducing power activity and total phenolic content. It was observed that SY extract had the highest total flavonoid content. In the study conducted to determine the antibacterial activity by the disc diffusion method, it was determined that only HY extract had activity and other extracts did not. It was determined that HY extract also showed activity against Pseudomonas aeruginosa (ATCC 9027), Enterococcus hirae (ATCC 10541) and Bacillus cereus (RSKK 863), but did not show activity against Escherichia coli (ATCC 10536).
