Abstract (EN)

Afghanistan is an insulator state between South Asia, Middle East, and Central Asia regional security complexes. Insulator states are weak states that keep their surrounding regional security complexes apart and suffer insecurity from them. However, these states can change their insulation position. In case of Afghanistan, the rising regional concerns on security threats, regional economic projects, and Afghanistan's key position for the realization of these projects are the possible chances to develop a regional consensus on the solution of security problems in the region and Afghanistan. A strong central government with minimum societal and political security problems, by following a multilateral foreign policy can overcome Afghanistan's insulation and solve the country's security problems.
