Abstract (EN)

In this study, cogeneration systems' historical development is explained, systems are studied in detail, compared with classical power generation systems, common benefits of systems are mentioned, different cogeneration system types are compared by presenting advantages and disadvantages of other cogeneration system types and information about primer cycle elements used by cogeneration systems is given. Also, different applications of cogeneration systems are mentioned and integration of ogeneration systems to heat centrals in district heating places is studied. In this stage, criteria of structural type selection, capacity selection, operation mode selection, EHR (Electric Heat Ratio) selection, fuel type selection are determined. Effects of system type selection criteria to cogeneration systems' energy and exergy efficiency are studied by explaining cogeneration systems' energy and exergy analysis. Depends on the analysis, MŞÜ's energy operating datas are determined and cogeneration system designed by using results of studies on previous stage. After designing, cogeneration system's working conditions are determined, energy and exergy efficiencies are calculated and what need to do to optimize these efficiency values are studied. So initial investment cost and energy production cost of cogeneration system are calculated and cogeneration system's feasibility analysis and benefit/cost analysis are made by using different methods. Next, payback period is calculated and cogeneration system's energetic, exergetic and economic characteristics are discussed. As a result of the study beneficial/profitible criteria of using cogeneration systems are proved.
