Abstract (EN)
The influence of education has been profoundly significant throughout the history of societies. The training of individuals who form the cornerstone of education has always been of great importance. In Turkish society, the issue of training educators using modern methods first began in the Ottoman Empire with the Maarif-i Umumiye Regulation. After the proclamation of the Republic, the role of education and educators in the construction of the nation-state became prominent. Numerous steps were taken in this regard, starting from the first village teacher schools and extending to the Village Institutes. After the closure of the Village Institutes, Teacher Schools were established nationwide to meet the demand for teachers. This study focuses specifically on Bolu Boys' Teacher School within the context of teacher schools. The school, which was established in Bolu, a city with a deep-rooted educational culture, officially began its educational activities on December 1, 1948. The school adopted the educational model applied in the Village Institutes. At the school, students received training not only in professional knowledge but also in fields such as agriculture, arts, and sports. The school, which made significant contributions to education in Bolu and the country, ceased its educational activities in 1975. This study examines the school's operation, courses, administrative staff, cultural and social activities, as well as economic activities. A qualitative research method based on document analysis was employed in this research. In addition to the sources from the relevant literature, archival documents, periodicals, monographs, theses, and memoirs were consulted in this study.
