The old houses located in the center of Bolu

The purpose of my thesis regarding the old houses which are located in the centre of Bolu is to show that these houses have an important place at the Turkısh house architecture. The old houses have importance so that they reflect the Turkısh house tradition. The all 38 which are mentioned in the catalogue , reflect the residence culture of Bolu. While some of these houses keep their originality, the parts belong to Turkısh house are modified or removed at some of them. Also some of them are restored or fully modified. There are some houses which are in the catalogue but don?t exist just now. At my workshop over the central Bolu houses, first the library research has done. Than the photographs of studied houses have been taken and plans have been drawn. The plans mentioned in the catalogue have been obtained from the archive of The Board of Protecting Cultural and Natural Properties of Ankara and from the archive of the Municipality Of Bolu. After obtaining the plans of the constructions, the writing stage of the Thesis has started. The Thesis starts with the Catalogue part. All of the constructions mentioned in the catalogue are defined from all aspects. After that a general evalution part has started. The central Bolu houses have been compored both with each other, and with the architecture of the houses of different regions. As a result, the old cental Bolu houses are continuance of Turkısh house tradition.
