Restoration of the Armutçular Residence in Mudurnu-Bolu-Turkey

At present, while the historical and cultural heritage of Turkey started to vanish due to several reasons; despite all the related legal ammendments put into force, especially because of the difficulties in usage and like the factors related with lack of maintenance and finacial sufficiency, a significant degrees is observed in the number of traditional houses in Turkey?s traditional housing architectural stock. The aim of this thesis is the determination of the convenient intervention methods suitable for the recent usage necessities; to extend the physical, social and economic life of the ?Armutçular Residence? located in ?Mudurnu?, a town of ?Bolu?. Thus, the transfer of this important sample of traditional architecture, which will be an example to nearby bildings of the same sort and will strengthen the conservation conscience, to the next generations will be possible within a context of sustainable conservation approach. Similar studies, to increase the number of similar samples, will highly contribute to the conservation of historical and cultural heritage at risk in Turkey.
