Researching and protection recommendations of traditional city pattern of Güneyce village, Seben district of Bolu province

This study is about the documentation of the traditional housing pattern of the Güneyce village in the district of Seben of Bolu province. This study aims at documenting the traditional housing pattern in the village, detecting deterioration in line with changing current needs, and making suggestions along with the precautions that can be taken for further protection. In addition, the author being registered at the register office of Güneyce, contributed to the choice of region. During the documentation of Güneyce village traditional housing pattern, the building stock was individually scanned, the internal and external documentation was made depending on whether the buildings could be entered or not, and analyzes related to the structures were created. The first part of the study, which consists of seven parts, including the introduction and conclusion parts, specifies the purpose and scope of the thesis and the applied methods. The second part presents physical, social-cultural, and economic characteristics, and historical and touristic features of the area to be examined. The third part provides information and details about location, transportation, economic topographic settlement, and architectural features of Güneyce village, which was chosen as study area. The fourth part of the thesis examines local architectural and bearing features and contains documentation studies. The fifth part includes general evaluations and identifies problems related to the area of study. In the sixth part, intervention, and protection decisions regarding the buildings in the study area are determined and a SWOT analysis regarding the region was made. It also contains suggestions regarding its tourism and trade potential. The thesis study is then concluded in the seventh and last part.
