Emergency service is a unit that is assigned to examine the patient with medical supplies , to make a diagnosis , to perform medical intervention and to treat for saving him from death or disability in case of health problems that occur in unexpected situations like sudden illness, accident, and physical injury. Inconvenient transfers put the patient in danger, also it causes loss of time and workforce for the team that performs the transfer and the team in the other organization. This study is carried out in Bolu in order to investigate the services of city ambulances and the transfers in the city and out of the city, to determine demographic features and to make analyses, also to overcome the deficiencies in transfers and to contribute to sharing information in the literature. Our study is a retrospective study that analyzed the transfers performed in and out of Bolu in September and October, 2012 by 112 command and control center. The data we used in our study was obtained by analyzing the patient transfer forms in 112 command and control center. The data we encoded in the forms was entered to SPSS 16.0. The descriptive values of the data were given as numbers and % frequency. The suitable chisquare test was used in the analyses of the relationships between variables. (Pearson chisquare or Fisherexact chi-square analyses) As statistical relevance level, p<0.05 was taken and we used PASW (ver.18) in evaluation. In our study, 3182 cases performed between September and December were analyzed. The ages of the cases were divided into 4 category that is 0-18, 19-45, 46-65, 66 viii and over. It was determined that most of the cases have a health insurance, few of them don't have an insurance. GKS motor answer of 85,2 % of the patients transfered with an ambulance is at 6 point, GKS oral answer of 84,1 % of them is at 5 point, GKS visual answer of 86 % of them is at 4 point. It was determined that the rate of transfer of men from feild to the hospital is lower than woman, the rate of refusal for transfer is lower than woman and the rate of cases that don't need to be transfered after the tratment and evaluation is higher than women. The rate of transfer from field to the hospital is higher in the team with a doctor. The rate of the cases that don't need to be transfered after the tratment and evaluation is higher in the team with a doctor than with a paramedic. The rate of refusal of transfer is the highest in the team with a paramedic. We consider that the data we have may be an indicator for improvement of hospital transport procedures and prehospital health services in the last 10 years in our country. Furthermore, we are of opinion that the regular education of medical staff will be able to decrease 112 cases transfered to hospital. Yet, we suppose that more long term and extensive researches about the topic may contribute to literature. Key words: 112, emergency, patient transpor
