Abstract (EN)
Lithium is widely used in electric transportation vehicles and portable electric vehicles, which are the usual returns of developing technology. In addition, according to the European Union Commission Report, the supply of lithium will increase 60 times by 2050, and the impact of climate change on this issue is great. However, there is no mineral deposit as a lithium source in Turkey. In our country, researches are continuing in order to obtain lithium from boron ore wastes, which are called secondary sources, geothermal waters around boron deposits and boron industry wastewater. In this doctoral thesis, heat treatment was used to take lithium from boron ore waste into solution. The effect of CaSO4.2H2O and CaCO3 added at different rates on lithium recovery was investigated and then, the lithium taken into the solution was precipitated as Li2CO3. Finally, the probability of the production of lithium titanium oxide with the obtained Li2CO3 was investigated. Conventional and mechanochemical pretreatments and high temperature synthesis were used to produce lithium titanium oxides. At this stage, the relationship between the phases and crystalline dimensions of the produced lithium titanium oxides with the grinding time and calcination time was also investigated.
