Abstract (EN)
In a country that is developing and at the same time that is dependent on external countries in terms of energy, such as Turkey, heat insulation has always been extremely important. And therefore, it is necessary to increase the variety of insulation materials for our country. Based on this very idea, it is aimed to produce a new insulation material that is both cost-effective and natural. In this project, an insulation material that is of sheep wool and boron added was produced and compared with existing insulation materials on the market on a 1/1 scale structure. Other insulation materials that are used to compare with the insulation material produced in the project are EPS and rock wool. First, the building was completely covered with rock wool and the effect of the facades on the ambient temperature and moisture was observed. And after that, by covering one room with EPS and the other with sheep wool insulation materials, all three insulation materials were compared together. While the rock wool gives the best results in the temperature test carried out in two stages, one being the ambient and the other being the surface temperature, in the moisture test, EPS provided the best insulation. In the sound test, while the rock wool and EPS absorbed an approximate number of decibels, the boron added sheep wool insulation material provided greater sound insulation. As a result, it was observed that the sheep wool insulation material that is still at the beginning of its work/research, even with its 1 cm production, entered into a competition with the rock wool and EPS that were supplied as 5 cm which went well above the expected level.
