Abstract (EN)
It is aimed to improve mechanical specifications of aluminum alloy bed and cast materials, produced through casting, by adding boric acid in its alloy. Boron is one of the irreplaceable element for all creatures in nature in order to maintain one's life. As a result of rapid improvements in science and technology, usage of boron increasing rapidly in the world day by day. Boron have become one of the most strategic metal recently because boron and its compounds which used in mechanical and metallurgy industry is very high value-added. Boron is used quite widespread in the world as alloy element in iron steel production. Especially Russia, Japan, USA and China are the primary of these countries. In Turkey, usage of boron as alloy element is very low level. It hasn't able to found any doctorate and post graduate study related to adding boric acid to aluminum alloy as alloy element in our country. This study will provide positive contributions to material science by researching effect of boric acid to aluminum alloys in different rate of ppm level. It will be worked on Boric acid, which will use as alloy element, and be improved it's specifications such as hardness, strength, abrasion, micro structure and corrosion, for Bed and cast materials obtained from aluminum alloys. With this study, a big market will be able to generated for boron product (boric acid) produced in Turkey. %90 of boron world production is carried out in Turkey and USA. Colemanite, ulexite, borax minerals, boric acid, borax dehydrate, borax pentahydrate, sodium perborate monohydrate and dehydrated borax produce as commercial and majority of the production is exported. With this project, boric acid will find opportunity as use economically in our country and add originality to the scientific works.
