Financial performance analysis of tourism companies listed in Borsa İstanbul (BİST)

In this study, financial performance was analyzed with the help of 14 financial ratios covering the periods of 2016-2018 in the 11 tourism sectors which are traded in Borsa İstanbul (BIST). The data is derived from the annual income statement and balance sheets published on the Public Disclosure Platform's (KAP) official website. AHP was used to determine the benchmark weights, and TOPSIS and VIKOR methods were used in the ranking of companies. The results obtained were combined with the BORDA method to reach the final ranking results. According to the results of the analysis, the main criterion is the profitability ratios and the most important criterion is the net profit margin ratio. The company with the highest financial performance was ETILR for 2016. The company with a high financial performance for 2017 and 2018 was PKENT.
