Abstract (EN)
The Kasbah of Algiers represents the historic center, classified by UNESCO in 1992 as a world heritage site. Today, this heritage is deteriorating, and urgent action is required. One of the challenges it faces involves the structural deterioration of its buildings, leading to the creation of frequently abandoned voids. However, the void is a new possibility for the city; it is a place where actions and activities are expressed that are absent from or complementary to the existing city. Everyday life plays a vital role in the component of the fabric that includes daily activities and local culture, in some cases the income culture that develops over time does not fit the local existent structure, Hence, the research notes that the voids can host these new activities. So, the study defines these voids, reveals their potential. Additionally, analyzes the activities of daily life within the Kasbah and the use or neglect of these empty spaces. And proposes the temporary structure to promote the regeneration of the urban landscape. The goal is to integrate the voids harmoniously into the urban scene while retaining their unique character and to transform them into dynamic dialogue platform.
