Examination of child-mother relations in divorce process and/or divorced families

Master Thesis, Department of Family Education and Counseling In this study, it is aimed to examine the relationships between the mothers who are divorced / in divorce process and their children, these relations in terms of demographic variables, family situations, and to be aware of the changes occurring in the relations of children with their mothers with divorce. In addition, it was aimed to reveal the situation about possible feelings and behavior problems during and after the divorce. In this context, firstly, the sample of the study consisted of mothers whose children are between 4-6 years of age, whose cases are divorce, custody, change of custody, personal relationship facility / personal relationship regulation in the Family Courts of İzmir Bayraklı Courthouse. In the study, it was used "Child-Parent Relationship Scale (CPRS)" and "Personal Information Form" and t-test, One-way Anova, Kruskal Wallis H-test and frequency analysis were used for independent samples in data analysis. According to the findings of the study, it was found that the child-mother relationship was significantly discrepancy according to the age of the child, the variables such as the age of the mother and the child, the level of education of the mother and the reasons for divorce and relationship facility did not give meaningful results for the child-mother relationship.
