Abstract (EN)

This study deals with the religious coping activities of individuals in the divorce process and their relationship with socio-demographic variable, subjective religiousness, depression, anxiety and stress levels. In order to understand these relations, research has been constructed on two basic levels as theory and practice. The theoretical framework consists of two parts. In the first part, general information about divorce and a number of factors affecting divorce are discussed. In the second part, depression anxiety, stress and divorce psychology and related theories were examined and religious coping approach was explained. The third part is devoted to practical research. Mixed research was designed with quantitative and qualitative research practice used together in research. Questionnaire and relational survey were used for quantitative research. Interview and case study were used for qualitative research. The data were analyzed and interpreted in the context of the problems and hypotheses of the study. As a result, it was found that the religious coping activities of the individuals in the divorce period vary significantly with respect to socio-demographic variables and divorce characteristics and these activities were also highly related to the perception of religiosity. It was found that the participants applied to positive religious coping activities rather than negative religious coping activities; positive religious coping had a negative relationship with depression, anxiety and stres, negative religious coping was found to have a positive relationship with depression, anxiety and stres, and all these relationships were significant. Particularly high positive correlation values were emerged religious intimacy the sub-dimension of positive religious coping than other sub-dimensions. In all dimensions of negative religious coping, higher and significantly correlation values were observed in anxiety level compared to others (depression, stress), and the interpersonal spiritual discontent the sub-dimension of negative religious coping is closely related to depression anxiety and stress. As a result of qualitative research, it was seen that the participants frequently used religious coping activities with all their positive and negative dimensions in order to overcome the difficulties they experienced during the divorce process, and these behaviors were concentrated with the search for significance after a failure.
