Abstract (EN)
This study was initiated with the aim of understanding how divorced individuals make sense of the problems they experience in society, the divorce process and difficulties, and sometimes their positive aspects, and make it plausible. In the process, people's pre- and post-marriage experiences and memories were shared, and the thesis included the processes that prepare them for divorce. It has been observed that people's own worldviews and existence purposes also determine their perspective on marriage. If the individual is more libertarian, he perceives marriage as a bondage, while there are some who find the search for meaning by being dependent on one another. Each individual has a unique path, while being a family is a goal for some; it is a hindering factor for others. Of course, the family, environmental and economic conditions of individuals also affects their existential processes. Individuals with economically strong families do not rush to make a living in daily life and can find the opportunity to seek deeper meaning. However, it is almost impossible to think about different things in the days spent with economic concerns. Of course, money isn't the only factor. Factors such as people's knowledge, ability to establish a healthy bond with the other person and self-confidence also affect individuals' perspectives on marriage. In this sense, it has been seen that individuals who do not have financial problems are more likely to look at the phenomenon of divorce. Individuals who do not have any concerns about the future after the divorce feel freedom when they end their bad marriage. However, divorce will certainly be a more challenging process for individuals who are in the framework of marriage due to financial obligations and who know that they will face various difficulties in financial terms when they end the marriage. According to the information obtained from the discourses of the participants, the lives of individuals who received family support after divorce were easier in every sense. Social support is one of the important factors that keep the individual alive. Keywords: Divorce, family, marriage, social cohesion
