Abstract (EN)

Pierre Bourdieu's concepts of habitus, capital, and field provide a comprehensive theoretical framework for understanding the positioning of journalists within the media field. These concepts serve as a critical tool in analyzing the power dynamics within local press, the shaping of professional practices, and the interaction between these processes and structural dynamics. This thesis examines the professional habitus, types of capital, perspectives on the field, journalistic practices, and future outlooks of local journalists in Bolu within the framework of Bourdieu's habitus, capital, and field concepts. The study, conducted using a qualitative research method with semi-structured in-depth interviews, is limited to local journalists based in the center of Bolu. By analyzing the relationships between habitus, field, and capital among local journalists in Bolu, this thesis aims to contribute to the local press field.
