Abstract (EN)
In this study, we aimed to compare the effects of mobilization, kinesiotape (KT) and classical treatment on neck pain. Sixty subjects who consult to Burcu Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Center with neck and/or neck and arm pain complaint participated in this study. A total of 60 subjects randomly divided into three groups and each group was consisted of 20 subjects. One of the groups took classical treatment, the other one took classical treatment with mobilization and the last one was in classical treatment and KT group. All subjects were assessed before and after the treatment. All data were analyzed using non-parametric statistical tests. Subjects? pain level was assessed with visual analog scale (VAS), range of motions were assessed with goniometric measurement, painfull points were assessed with palpation and effects of pain in their life was assessed with neck disability index (NDI). After VAS and NDI evaluations, there were significant results at the end of the treatment in each group (p<0.001). In a comparison among 3 groups there was no significant difference with these parameters (p>0.05). In goniometric assessment, a significant increase of motion in all directions has been observed for KT group, whereas in mobilization group this increase has been observed in all directions except right rotation; also we found an increase only in flexion, extansion and right rotation movements in classical treatment group at the end of the treatment (p<0.05). When we consider the difference of goniometric assessments of three groups we found a significant difference in left lateral flexion in favor of KT group (p<0.05), in the evaluation of trigger point palpation only KT group has accomplished a significant difference in right interscapular region parameter among groups (p<0.05). In conclusion, while each group showed significant results a comparison among 3 groups showed no favored group.
