Abstract (EN)

The aim of this postgraduate study is to show horse?s place in steppe ethnicalsculture and mythology.İn this study, horse?s importance was tried to discover by reseorching the first andsecond hand souices about Middle Turkish Culture up to V. Century B.C. and IX A.C.İn World History Turks used the horse firstly as a riding animal and by this wayhorse was earned to World Culture History. That?s why Turks gave importance to horsepolitically, socially, economically, military, religious, artistic and mythologicallyreflected to their life.Shortly;1-Because the horse was appened in which culturel geography and was given asto payment shows the role in political scene.2-Because the horse took place in Turk?s entertainments and festivals, its milkwas drunk, its meat was eaten; shows the role horse in social life.3-The change of horses with chinese silk, to sell them in meaning of commerce,especially war horses shows the importance in economy.4- Heros were buried with their horses, horses spared the same fatalities with theirowners, and some cereminies show the religious importance of horses.5-Horses were used in wars as weapons, also used because of its speed and powerand this shows the importance in militory life.6-Horse takes place in some old artistic materials the artistic importance.7-Horse takes place in mythlogical stories and show its mythological importance.
