Abstract (EN)
New researches have gained importance due to toxicity of refrigerants using in actual cooling machines. Therefore, a Brayton cooling machine has been designed which uses air as it is a nontoxic, easily provided and economic fluid. The Brayton cooling cycle has been predicated in this study. The rapid expansion has obtained by using convergent-divergent nozzle in design of the Brayton cooling machine. The convergent-divergent nozzle has been designed and produced for appropriate length-diameter ratio. The experiments have been performed in Brayton cooling machine for compressor pressures of 2x105, 4x105, 6x105, 8x105 Pa. The results of experiments have been given in tables as comparatively. It was observed that temperature in outlet of the convergent-divergent nozzle decreased as compressor pressure increased. It is determined that more cooling effect could be obtained by increasing the compressor pressure to obtain long term operating of the system.
