Abstract (EN)
This study was conducted to examine the effects of adding lyophilized royal jelly (LRJ) to broiler rations on performance. In the study, 96 Ross 308 broiler chickens at the age of 1 day were used. The trial was designed with 4 treatments (control, 25 ppm lyophilized royal jelly (LRJ1), 50 ppm lyophilized royal jelly (LRJ2) and 75 ppm lyophilized royal jelly (LRJ3)), each treatment with 4 subgroups and 6 animals in each subgroup. According to the breeding period, royal jelly was added to the rations at the determined rates and the feed was given freely. The study was continued for 42 days. In the study, weekly live weight and feed consumption data were taken, and data on performance, carcass and visceral weights were obtained in the cuts made on the 35th and 42nd days of the study. The differences in body weight, body weight gain, feed consumption and feed conversion ratios between the groups were not statistically significant (P>0.05). There was no significant difference between the groups in terms of carcass weight, carcass yield and visceral weights (P>0.05). While the difference between the groups in terms of superoxide dismutase (SOD) gene expression level in the liver was not significant (P>0.05), the difference between the values of catalase gene expression level in the LRJ3 group compared to the LRJ2 group and the insulin-like growth factor gene expression level in the LRJ2 group compared to the LRJ1 group was significant (P). As a result, it was observed that the addition of 25, 50 and 75 ppm lyophilized royal jelly did not affect performance and slaughter characteristics in broilers, but increased catalase and insulin-like growth factor gene expression levels. New studies can be carried out with lower and higher doses for the purpose of the doses that lyophilized royal jelly will have an effect on the performance and slaughter characteristics of broilers.
