A look at the phenomenon resistance in Bruno Apitz's Naked Among Wolves and Kemal Tahı̇r's Tired Warrior texts within the framework of comparative literary theory

In this study, how the phenomenon of 'resistance' is handled in German writer Bruno Apitz's Naked among wolves and Turkish writer Kemal Tahir's Tired Warrior will be analysed within the framework of Comparative Literature Science and in the context of the systematics and fields of study of this science. Comparative Literature Science is a term used for the researches, studies and analyses carried out on the literatures of the nations with which there are close relations, neighbourly connections and cultural exchanges in a certain period of history in accordance with the principle of "comparison". When this science is accepted as the comparison of one literature with another or others and the comparison of literature with other fields of human expression (philosophy, history, politics, economics, sociology), a phenomenon, a notion will be better understood. The science of comparative literature, thanks to the breadth of its subject and position, also encompasses the history of thought, the sociology of literature, comparative psychology, literature and aesthetics in general. Analysing the above-mentioned texts in the context of Comparative Literary Studies, since they are about recent history, involve processes such as war and national struggle, and touch upon the same phenomenon, will shed light on how the phenomenon they touch upon is handled in the literary world. The main purpose of our study is to analyse the phenomenon of resistance as portrayed by the authors from the perspective of those who lived through the First and Second World Wars and those who looked at the wars from the outside, and also to reveal how two different societies and cultures resisted the war, and to raise awareness on the subject in a social and individual context through literature. Naked among wolves by Bruno Apitz tells the story of an incident that took place in the Buchenwald concentration camp in the spring of 1945 during World War II. A Jewish child, whom prisoners and inmates tried to hide at the risk of their own lives, became a symbol of humanity and the struggle for life. This struggle for life also forms the basis for an uprising and resistance planned by the prisoners. The Tired Warrior, which deals with the social structuring that started in Istanbul, the capital of the country, and Anatolia during the Armistice years, and the organisation that took a stand against the occupations, tells the story of a process that began before the official name of the Republic of Turkey existed and laid the foundations for the establishment of the Republic. Every act is a symbol of uprising and resistance against the forces that want to take over the country with difficulty, by people who aim to defend their homeland and not to lose their independence.
