Abstract (EN)

Organisations compensate the manpower which they need for achieving goals by means of using their internal and external resources. Public institutes try to select the needed manpower for vacant positions among their employees. In case the number of candidates who have the required qualifications among employees exceeds the number of vacant positions, selecting the best candidate has importance for effective and productive use of resources. In the military hospitals, which have the characteristics of public institutes, since in mid-term, the number of the candidates having the required qualifications will exceed the number of charge nurse positions to which assignments will be made, a fair and scientific system will be needed in personel selection for the assignments which can be regarded as promotion to these positions. For this reason, in this study, it is aimed to attain an efficient personel selection method by means of applying Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS), which depends on the basis of ?the best solution is the one which is at both the nearest position to the positive ideal solution and the farthest position to the negative ideal position?, to nurse selection in Y military hospital which is a public institute.
