Abstract (EN)
In this study, awareness levels of non-steroidal antiinflammatory drug use were investigated in patients over 65 years old in Burdur city center. The study was conducted on 428 elderly patients using Non Steroid Antiinflammatory drugs. The elderly individuals who were using non steroidal antiinflammatory drugs were evaluated for compliance with the criteria for participation in the study. Questionnaire form was applied to the elderly who had appropriate criteria using face to face interview technique. The results were evaluated by SPSS 23 statistical package program. In this study, 53.3% of elderly individuals have low levels of awareness of NSAID use. This can be explained as low level of education, being alone, using over-the-counter drugs, making certain drugs habit due to chronic illnesses, using medications that they think they are beneficial, difficulty in going to doctor or avoiding inspection fees, taking medicines without prescription drugs which are more economical.
