Abstract (EN)
In this study, it was aimed to determine the antioxidant activity and mineral content of some medicinal and aromatic plants sold in herbalists in Burdur province. Species of the samples determined in thestudy; antioxidant activity, phenolic compound and mineral content analyzes were made. Experimental studies were carriedout at the Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University, Scientific and Technology Application and Research Center Laboratory. According to this; It was determined that Salvia officinalis L. (sage) with the highest total antioxidant content of the analyzed plant samples and Hypericum perforatum L. (St. St. John's Wort) rankedsecond. The plant sample with the lowest total phenolic content was determined as Equisetum arvense L. (horsetail). According to the results of the antioxidant activity of the plants amples by the DPPH method, it was determined that the antioxidant capacities of Equisetum arvense L. (horsetail) and Malva sylvestris L. (midnight mulberry) had higher values compared to the other samples. Results of phenolic compounds determined by HPLC method, from flavonoids; the highest quercetin was detected in Salvia officinalis L. (sage) plant sample and thelowest in Urtica dioica L. (nettle) plant sample. Routine, highest Capparis spp. (caper) plant sample was the lowest in Juniperus communis L. (juniper) plant sample. Naringenin was highest in Salvia officinalis L. (sage) plant specimen and lowest in Juniperus communis L. (juniper) plant specimen. Cinnamic acid is the highest Capparis spp. (caper) plant sample was the lowest in Juniperus communis L. (juniper) plant sample. Vanilli c acid was highest in Cichorium intybus L. (wild chicory) plant sample and lowest in Urtica dioica L. (nettle) plant sample. Caffeic acid was highest in Salvia officinalis L. (sage) plant sample and lowest in Urtica dioica L. (nettle) plant sample. 2,5-Dihydroxy benzoic acid was highest in Hypericum perforatum L. (St. St. John's Wort) plant sample and lowest in Achillea millefolium L. (yarrow) plant sample. Ellagic acid was highest in Hypericum perforatum L. (St. St. John's Wort) plant sample and lowest in Juniperus communis L. (juniper) plant sample. According to the data obtained in the determination of the mineral contents performed in the ICP-OES device, the highest amounts of Ca, B, Zn, Mn, Cu and Fe were found in the Urtica dioica L. (nettle) plant sample, while the Mg, Al and K contents were the highest in Malva sylvestris L. Equisetum arvense L. (horsetail) plant sample had the highest amount of Na. According to theresults of our research, themost mineral content was determined in Urtica dioica L. (nettle) plant sample. It was determined that antioxidant activity, phenolic compounds and mineral contents of determined plant samples differ according to plant species.
