Abstract (EN)

The Performance-Based Plastic Design (PBPD) method is a simple and powerful design method that does not require many iterations and considers the mechanism state and target drift amount as design principles at the very beginning of the design. This study, it is aimed to compare the PBPD method and the Deformation Based Design Method approach, which is one of the two basic approaches for the design of building structural systems under the influence of earthquake in TBDY-2018, for the design of buildings whose structural system consists of buckling-restrained braced frames Within the scope of this thesis, two prototype buildings with 5 and 10 floors, consisting of buckling-restrained braced frames, are considered. These prototype buildings were designed separately according to both methods. The performances of the buildings designed according to the two methods were compared by subjecting the prototype buildings designed according to these two methods to non-linear dynamic analyzes in the inelastic thrust and time history domain.
